City of Parkland’s Audit is Clean for a Second Year in a Row!
Florida State Statute requires a financial audit and examination be made of the accounts and financial affairs of every municipal within the state at least once a year. The City of Parkland hired auditors, Nowlen, Holt & Miner, P.A., to perform this review. A presentation was made to the City Commission on May 1st. According to the independent auditors, the City received an unqualified opinion on its annual financial audit where it was found that the City's financial statements present fairly, the City's financial condition and are in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles applied on a consistent basis. The annual audit also includes favorable Compliance and Internal Control reports as required by Government Auditing Standards. For the second year in a row, there were no comments received from the Auditor which he stated at the meeting is very unusual and something that the City should be extremely proud of. If you have any questions, please contact Nancy Morando, Finance Director, at nmorando@cityofparkland.org or 954 757-4123.
