Join Sheriff Scott Israel and the men and women of the Broward Sheriff's Office for America's Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Parkland Commons (8095 University Drive). Come meet your Broward Sheriff's Office Deputies and Coral Springs Fire Rescue personnel. They will be displaying equipment and answering questions. Refreshments and food will be served!

The Selfish Giant Marionette Show by Bits N Pieces Puppet Theater (ages 3 and up)

This marionette performance will bring the classic tale of “The Selfish Giant” to life. The selfish giant must learn to share and value friendship if he is to be happy. Wet N’ Wild Waterpark Optional Summer Camp Field Trip

The City of Parkland Summer Recreation Program will offer the Summer Camp Wet N’ Wild Waterpark Trip in Orlando on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 6am-11pm. This trip is open to present Parkland Kids and Teen Camp campers ages 8 and up. The fee for the trip is $75 and includes admission, transportation, lunch, dinner, snacks and supervision. Parkland Summer Camp Individual Week Registration On-going
Parkland Amphitheater, 10561 Trails End

The City of Parkland is now accepting registrations for individual weeks for both the Parkland Teen Camp and Parkland Kids Camp. Registration can be done at the Parkland Amphitheater from 8:00AM-5:00PM. Spaces are limited in both camp programs. Individual weeks for residents are $175 and for non-residents, $200.

Parkland Lecture on Invasive Exotic Plant Awareness

The City of Parkland is pleased to announce a lecture to promote invasive exotic plant awareness in the community. This lecture will be held on August 16th, 2013 from 3:30 – 4:30 PM at the City of Parkland Library, 6620 North University Drive, Parkland, FL 33067. This lecture will introduce current data on the detrimental effects invasive exotic plants have on the environment, the types of invasive exotic plants affecting the community, and alternative plant choices available for resident use. Come join us to learn more about the effects of invasive exotic plants and what you can do to halt the introduction of these plants into our natural plant communities.
