On 8/19/ 2013 two residential burglaries occurred in the Parkland Isles Community of Parkland. Both burglaries occurred during the day and items taken included electronics, a wallet and jewelry. In each burglary the burglar entered the residences through an open back door. On 8/20/2013 about noon a young male juvenile entered the back yard of another residence in Parkland Isles. When he did he was confronted by the owner and left the yard. The owner called 911 and followed the subject until a deputy arrived and located this individual. The deputy contacted a Parkland Detective and both responded to the juvenile’s residence, which was also in Parkland Isles. As a result of this investigation the juvenile has been charged and arrested for the burglary. As a reminder to all residents, check all your doors and windows when you leave the house, even for a short time, to make sure they are locked and alarms are activated. Also, not all burglars are adults and live outside of your community. Juveniles wondering in a community during school hours may live there but may not have good intentions. They may be skipping school or looking for a house to break into, as was in this case. In any event BSO wants to know when this is occurring, call 911 to report a possible crime in progress. For more information please contact the BSO Parkland District at 954-753-5050.
