Operation Medicine Cabinet and Shred-A-Thon
On Saturday June 8th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon the Broward Sheriff’s Office Parkland District will host Operation Medicine Cabinet and a Shred-A-Thon. This event will take place at the Parkland City Hall, 6650 University Drive.

Operation Medicine Cabinet is a prescription drug take back program that allows participants to turn in unused, unwanted or expired prescription medication anonymously and receive a $5 gift card while supplies last. Residents may bring these drugs to a table staffed by BSO personnel who will accept and properly dispose of all medications. Operation Medicine Cabinet is sponsored by BSO and the United Way Commission on Substance Abuse. Since Operation Medicine Cabinet events began, hundreds of thousands of prescription pills have been collected.

The Shred-A-Thon is a way residents can shred away identity theft by safely disposing of their personnel documents, check stubs, credit card offers receipts or any other material that might contain sensitive material. On the day of the event residents will drive up to the shredder and BSO Personnel will unload your documents and place them in the shredder while you watch. Just throwing documents away is the worst thing you can do, protect your identity and shred.
